Damaged injector removal for M9R 780, M9R 782 and M9R 784 engines.

We are able to remove some damaged injectors from Renault/Nissan/Vauxhall M9R engines. We can offer this service at our diagnostic centre near Paddock Wood in Kent, or on a mobile basis to garages at extra cost. The costs shown are in addition to standard injector removal prices.

These pictures apply to Vauxhall Vivaro, Renault Trafic and Nissan Primastar 2006-2009.

M9R injector Break A1: injector pipe thread stripped
Removal probability: excellent

M9R injector Break A2: injector pipe thread broken off, but shoulders of injector still present
This type of damage is often caused by use of the Renault-Nissan special removal tool where the injector is too tightly seized for the tool to be effective.
Removal probability: good

M9R injector Break A3: injector pipe thread broken off, also shoulders of injector broken
This type of damage is usually caused by the use of a slide hammer where the injector is too tightly seized for the tool to be effective.
Removal probability: 50/50

M9R injector Break A4: injector pipe thread broken off, also shoulders of injector forced up
This type of damage can be caused by the use of a correct double-clamping puller but which has not been correctly tightened onto the injector.
Removal probability: 50/50

Recommended action: Soak in penetrating oil for as long as possible. Protect from rainwater.
M9R injector Break A5: injector top broken with only a stub remaining
This type of damage is extremely rare, and can be caused by repeated attempts to weld onto a broken injector. We do not currently offer a service for removing this type of break, either because our success rate is too low for this type of damage, or the repair is not cost effective.

Recommended action: Replace engine, or cut off cylinder head cover and replace cylinder head.
M9R injector Break A6: injector snapped off, and injector collar ground away
This type of damage is caused by attempts to enable cam cover removal. We do not currently offer a service for removing this type of break, either because our success rate is too low for this type of damage, or the repair is not cost effective.
